State Composition for all HUCs

The following table gives the percent state composition by area for all HUC's. The results are based on Graphical Locater's state and HUC identification routines. Over 20 million points were used in the analysis. This approach could not be used for the Great Lakes or for some ocean bays because off-shore state identifications are unavailable in Graphical Locater. Many HUCs logically (but not officially) extend into Canada or Mexico, but this is not reported here. Note that 0.0% means some small, but non-zero amount of the state was detected in the HUC. Some of the small values may in fact, be zero due to imperfections in the data for the borders. This is especially true where the HUC borders and the state borders are the same. These HUC's on the Idaho/Montana border were corrected by hand. This is the only area in the country where HUC borders and state borders are the same over a great distance. This seems unfortunate.

HUC's are grouped by region and ordered by their code. States are ordered by the percent of the HUC they contain. If searching by name, note that HUC names are not unique (the Missouri Region alone has 6 HUC's called Beaver Creek!). If searching by state, note that some HUC names match state names.
